All ages can participate in Level 1 team, eventually working towards becoming part of the level 2 team. This program is designed for kids who need to work on stoke development. We teach kids to swim the butterfly, back, breast and free style stokes correctly. Coaches heavily emphasize on building correct technique for each swim stroke. Racing starts, flip turns and relay starts are introduced. Level 1 swimmer are REQUIRED/ MANDATORY to participate in dual meets (our team verses another team). We time kids each session once to compare improvement from session to session. Prior to swim practice coaches work on dry-land swimming technique along with stretches and core strength training. Kids start by learning all the swimming strokes, gliding and breathing techniques along with applying the fundamentals through multiple lap swimming. Strokes are broken down into stages such as only kicking and upper body form and eventually combining to increase speed and endurance. Kids also begin learning starts and turns for each stroke. This group practices three times a week. See schedule/calendar for practices and swim meets..
Practice times:All ages can participate on Level 2 team. A minimum of one year of swimming is required to be on the competitive team or up to the coaches' discretion based on swimmers ability. At this level kids are comfortable with all four swim strokes. Technique is still developed through increased distance and speed. Coaches develop individual training session to further enhance swimmers potentials and reach swimming goals. Swim meets (dual and open meets) are MANDATORY to be on the competitive team. Prior to swim practice coaches work on dry-land stretches and core strength training. Furthermore, we discuss swim strategies, and/or swim meet wrap up. At this level kids start focusing on time trials and personal achievements. Swimmers practice all stokes and enhance their specialty stroke. Kids also perfect starts and turns for each stroke. This is a competitive group that will compete about once a month. Practices are longer and harder. See schedule/calendar for practices and swim meets..
