The Lawrenceville Stingrays Youth Water Polo Team started as a program for anyone interest in Swimming and Water Polo.

This year-round program is designed to introduce, develop, and excel in the sport of swimming and water polo from a young age to just about any ability. Practices are designed to be fun, informative and challenging. All genders from 6 to 15 are participating in practices, scrimmages, games and tournaments.
This Stingrays swimming team is a transitional group with an emphasis on building strong personal skills and swim habits that will carry the swimmer through his or her future development.

We offer two different swim team programs: Noncompetitive and a Competitive.
Noncompetitive
Wednesdays 6:15-7:30 & Fridays 6:15-7:30
This group is for all ages but mostly beginners/intermediate swimmers. In the Beginner group, kids start by learning all the swimming strokes, gliding and breathing techniques.
In the intermediate group, kids start applying the fundamentals through multiple lap swimming. Strokes are broken down into stages such as only kicking and upper body form and eventually combining to increase speed and endurance.
Kids also begin learning starts and turns for each stroke.
The first 15 minutes of practice will be dry land. This group practices twice a week. See practice schedule for times.....
Competitive:
Wednesdays 7:30-8:45; Fridays 7:30-8:45 & Saturdays 8:00-9:00AM
At the
competitive
level, kids start focusing on time trials and personal achievements. At this level swimmers practice all stokes and enhance their specialty stroke.
Kids also perfect starts and turns for each stroke.
This is a competitive group that will compete about once a month. Practices are longer and harder. Attending swim meets are mandatory
at this level.
